Esther K.C.(Anderson) Northrup

Age 91(03-15-1933) passed to be with parents, all of her siblings and  her husband. At Austinburg Rehab. Where she resided for the last 3 years. On April 20 2024 at 4:06pm.

She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio to the late Arthur and Mary (Misczik) Anderson. Always a resident of “Swede Town” on East 17th St. She was known to be more popular to all peoples than the City Manager.

She was the baby of nine children. Eleanor(Anthony Volpone), Albert(Ellie), Henry(Dolores),Anna(Walter Ribo), Evelyn (Jack Welton),Dorothy(Stanley Gagat), Harry(Bernice),Arthur “Junior”.

From a very young age, she became interested and part of so many groups, organizations and teams. On the field as an Ashtabula High School Panther class of 1951 cheerleader, to the City rec.league volleyball. A member of Mt.Carmel Church since her beginning. She would be involved in anything and everything church related.

On August 4, 1955, she married her one and only boyfriend ,Franklin A.Northrup there they began to be part of the Mount Carmel festival, Perpetual adoration. The rod and reel club where they proudly would be on their boat(s),  the “Teenie-Weenie” and then the “FAN-Es”.

She was employed at Electro Met. And then Drs.Brace and Costa’s Office.

Then they began to build a family of 5 . Where all attended Catholic school. So then began mom and dad‘s club, bingo, team mom for every sport and cooked every Friday night for the teams, festival of trees, St. Patrick’s Day raffle, the nutty Buddy club, the pasta fagioli club.

For fun she became employed in the cafeteria at St. John. She was a Panther, but a Herald at heart. She now resides on the wall of the Hall of Fame in St. John’s  School.

Her hobbies included

toll painting ,ceramics, making bows ,gardening to decorating. She was a seamstress, an excellent cook and was mistaken for being “Italian“. For the massive amounts she made and how delicious the meals were.

She was a baker. And was known for her famous cookie tables at every wedding , graduation, party and even a bar mitzvah .

She was so proud to be a part of “Club”. A group of her friends that attended either lunch or dinner once a month since graduating high school. These women were truly her best friends.

She was so very loved and she loved to entertain at her home.In the pool, paying you a penny, to a dime to help her pull weeds .She loved her occasional sip of a Tom Collins and making her Esther’s killer slush. And of course..Engelbert Humperdink.

Playing L-R-C,poker..”follow the Queen.pay me,pay me”. to offering you tea and toast every time you entered her home.

She will be so sadly missed by her children:

Merri Beth Gramley, Leeann(Beth Nageotte-Northrup),Barry(Sherrie), Randy (Renee) and Carrie(Jay Sigler).

Grandchildren:

Shannon(Megan) and Jessica(Corey)Gramley,

Nikki (Will) Lazor,

Jordin (Jamie) Kirk,

Lauren Sigler-Gozelinchick,

Noah (Bri) Olson

And Dylan Northrup . And so many nieces, nephews, greats, cousins. Far too many to list.

This was her journey so in true Esther style..it was her way!

She will be “just peachy!!”
